Hi. I m 36 year old man. From about two years I m experiencing sharp sudden pain on top left part of my stomach just under line of a ribs. I can feel pain when I m sitting but very sharp pain is coming when I m trying to sit up from lying position. It feels like getting burned by hot iron. Please help. Martin
It appears to be a muscular strain, which is common and can be due to any inappropriate set I'd movement or strain and recovers spontaneously, however, some analgesics and muscle relaxants like tizanidine may help. For further reassurance, you can have a chest X-ray. The association with protein meals raises few eyebrows regarding its gastric origin and can be a coincidence. You can further look for uric acid levels to find any association between proteins and pains but in your case, it is a rare possibility. Any relation to problem number 3 is less likely. First, if problem number 3 has to be assessed at its own. It would be more appreciable if we can know the size or appearance of that spot. You can share pictures as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
