What Causes Pain Under Shoulder?

I fell asleep on the couch sitting up and it took me 3 hours to get up. I have a severe shooting pain under my left shoulder and its hard for me to breathe. Do you suppose I pulled a muscle while sleeping upwards? I finally managed to get up and take Tylenol Extra Strength for pain

Hi...
Welcome to HCM..
Thanks for the query..
There could be compression of the nerve which supplies the upper limb as you were sleeping..
The pain or numbness can extend lower down also..
It will come down slowly.
You just have to keep moving your hand in all directions..
You can continue taking pain relievers.
If the pain is severe and you are not able to move your hand consult physicain..They may suggest a brace if required..
Hope this information is helpful to you..Take care..
Regards..
