Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On Monday I blew my nose so hard that I notice immediately I felt a pain just under my lower rib on the right side. But It was bearable I was able to move around with minor discomfort but on Tuesday I was sitting on a chair and twisted my body to the right and from there the mild pain went to a sharp pain that it was hard for me to move around, walk, get out of bed. If I moved a certain position I feel like knife just under my right lower rib. If I walk slowly it won t hurt but if I move a certain way then I feel the sharp pain. But when I touch my right side it doesn t hurt. It hurts inside under the rib but not the outside. What could I have done? And what can I do to make it better. And how long will it take for it to heal? YYYY@YYYY
Hi,Welcome to heathcaremagic. After going through your query I cacluded that you are suffering from muscular pain due to stretching of chest muscles by forceful nose blowing.Treatment of it is rest and analgesics such as diclofenac three times a day after meals. Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside can be added. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. It may take a week time to relief. However you can get his chest x ray done to exclude bony pain. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
