Hello I am young adult and I have been having problems with my left knee for years. These knee problems consist of swelling, stiffness, locking up when bent for a long period of time, and some painful discomfort. What is wrong with my knee and what can I do to make it better?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you are having probably meniscus injury to your knee because you got locking and stiffness. This can be confirmed by MRI of your knee joint. Treatment of It is quadriceps exercises, analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Sometimes arthroscopic meniscectomy may need to be done. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
