What Causes Pain On The Left Side Of The Chest?

Hhi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I had a head on collision with a bike about ten years ago and possibly un-noticed hit my chest against the steering wheel. I have been noticing pains since last year on the left side of my chest spreading to my entire hand and back side. I don;t know which medication to take as i have used a lot of pain relieve without success. Please advice.

I can understand your concern.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely in your case.
But better to rule out heart diseases because your pain is on left side of chest.
So get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg and 2d echo.
If all these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
Do following things for better symptomatic relief in musculoskeletal pain.
1. Avoid movements causing pain.
2. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
3. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside.
4. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
