What Causes Pain On The Base Of The Neck And A Lump In The Throat?

hi..i am 5 weeks clear of an ACDF operation at the c6/c7 level....I have developed an uncomfortable and mildly painful feeling at the base of my neck..it doesn t feel muscular..also my throat feels as if there is a lump in it all the time...is this normal or anything to worry about ?....my neck also feels creaky when moving.
