Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain On Left Side Of Stomach And Back?
my wife left side stomach/ back area hurts very bad. if she lays on that side it aggravates this situation even more. we have been to the Dr. but know one is taken this situation seriously. it is tender to the touch. no discoloration no rash around this area. its been hurting her for over a year. to combat this situation she just avoids laying on her left side.
Hello If I were her treating doctor I would have advised her for a battery of tests like blood for hemoglobin, CBC Liver and kidney function test, EKG, an X ray chest ultrasound of upper abdomen and endoscopy if need be.
Here I would like more information like her age and relevant medical history Is she having any symptoms of acid reflux, breathing difficulty
She can take ibuprofen for pain relief with anti acidity medicines like pantoprazole or omeprazole with antacids Hot water packs may help her if it's a muscular pain.
In my opinion she should consult a GP for physical examination and abovementioned investigations in order to establish a diagnosis and further course of action
Thanks for your question Best wishes
