Hi I came down with a cold about a week ago and have developed a bad cough in the last couple of days. I always seem to have problems with the right side of my throat (in the past, I have gotten a cold each winter that lasts about a week, but then leaves me with a nasty cough that persists for months and always with this feeling that there is something in the right side of my throat). This cough has caused problems with work, so I'm hoping it won't last so long this time. I have never smoked (none of my friends or family do). I never had my tonsils removed, but my mother did when she was a child. I do sometimes have allergic sneezes, although they seem different and this throat problem is always triggered by a cold, almost always in winter. Some doctors have suggested I might have sleep apnea or asthma (I'm currently trying an advair inhaler), but I'm concerned that it always invariably is the right side of my throat that has the issue. Any ideas?
