What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

Hi!! I am having pain in my upper stomach. I have acid reflux and a sliding hiatal hernia. I had the Bariatric DS surgery in Dec. I took 2 tums to see if it helped. It comes and goes. I m leaning more toward the acid reflux. Just do not know how to get this to stop. Had dry heaves twice in the past 30 mins. I take omeprazol on a regular basis have not had any in about 5 days. I took 2 about 3:00 am. Looking for relief!! Thank you! Susan YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You can try some cold milk for now. Take small sips of cold milk. Don't take coffee or tea and don't smoke. Take double pillows to sleep on. Keep posture upright to avoid reflux in these times. Omeprazole is good but someday you will need to stop it. With this surgery done now, you must lose weight and then slowly the reflux trouble will subside. Take care to not gain weight again.

Take care,
Regards
