What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Left Side?

For the past three or four days I have been having mod.-severe stomach cramps in ULQ. After a few hours I usually have a BM that is normal, but I continue to hurt the rest of the day. Could this be serious and should I go to my family doc? Also I am on Previcid at night.

Hi,

Of course, this is not normal and you should see a doctor. I suppose that you may have kidney stones. You can take Buscopan for pain. Your doctor may perform an abdominal ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
