What Causes Pain In The Toe?

my second toe on my right foot really hurts bad as in cramping & feels like bees are stinging it at the end on my 12 hour shift of being a machinist. steel toe shoes & standing all day running 2 machines are hard enough. I have bought 4 different pair of steel toe shoes in the past 2 years to try to get some relief. Went to the foot doctor...x-rays show no broken bones. I can feel a small lump between toe 2 & 3. Dr. wants me to have a shot & I don t want one. Any advice???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a toe infection.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication for the inflammation.

I also recommend using an antibiotic cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
