What Causes Pain In The Toe Joints?

Hi, I have been having problems with my big toe joint and the dr thinks I have Mortons neuroma, however I am a transcription secretary using a transcription foot pedal and have realised that I hold my foot up while typing, could this cause my pain and it not be Mortons neuroma?
