just involvement of thumbs is not very specific of arthritis.do you feel stiffness and pain and swellin in any other joints?do you get early morning stiffness?did you ever injure your thumb?you need to do your RA factor,x-ray of your hand, and get cbc,ESR,ANA,CRP done.visit a a rheumatologist with these results. As a doctor should take a look at your thumbs and get a detailed history to make a diagnosis. For temporary relief you can use diclofenac ointment or spray or ibuprofen tablet.
