What Causes Pain In The Thumb Nail?

Right thumb nail is slightly painful; the nail has had to be cut off about 3 times in the last 9 months; it seems that it does not grow to the skin; manicurist says it gets wet and eventually the nail is completely dead. I take Hair/Nail vitamin and all purpose vitamin. I do have Gel nails, but no problem with other 9 nails. I have arthritis, cannot see that arthritis could cause this.. It has just grown back from last time it was dead; now I can see discoloration at base, starting the usual problem. I do not have my cuticles cut.

Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the issue sounds to be like ingrowing nail most likely.

* Kindly post a recent photo image of the thumbnail for further guidelines accordingly in a more profound surgical way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
