What Causes Pain In The Thumb Joints?

Hi. I recently had carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands due to the fact that I’m a nail technician and have been for the past 30 years. Recently my right thumb has been locking up at both of the joints to the point that I can’t move it normally and it is very painful. It is obviously a lot worse after a long day at work. Today after work I was getting a stabbing pain up my arm. I’m just wondering if it is related to my carpel tunnel, which has been completely better since my surgery. Thank you for any advice that you could give. Pam
