Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain either from my rectum or from my lower tailbone.I am taking metformin 2000mg a day for my diabetes. The pain seems to be worse after sitting for along period of time.I am also have a problem with a slightly large prostrait.which is causing pain when l urinate & going every hour all night long. Va doctor has me on tamsulosin 0.4mg cap a day are any of these causing rectal pain.
The tablet for helping normal urination and reused size of prostate would not cause rectal pain. You most probably have pain at the tip of the sacral or coccyx bone. The best way to relive your pain is to use a soft cushion, while you sit. Please do not sit on a hard surface. In a period of time your pain should resolve. There are other intervention treatments but this first line of management is effective in large number of patients.
