What Causes Pain In The Middle Back Around The Rib Cage?
I have pain in my mid back near the bottom of my rib cage. It is a sharp pain sometimes, but at other times just a dull aching. I have had a ruptured disc before and this does not feel the same. My disc rupture was at L-5. This is much higher. Seems as if my lung will hurt but no shortness of breath or pain if I take a deep breath.
I read carefully your question and understand your concern.
You may have a common case of decubitus ulcers.
This can be cause due long periods with bad position for the muscles, my patients presents common pains in the back when they have suffer from a disc fracture so having a muscular spams its very common among them.
I teach them to have stretching exercises that they can do. These stretches will help prevent your muscles from becoming shortened or tense.
I provide them splints or plasters on some joints to prevent them from becoming so stiff that you can not move them easily.
Im always be careful with the development of decubitus ulcers by exercise or by being in the same position in a bed or in a wheelchair for too long.
Decubitus ulcers can increase your chances of falling and getting hurt. Be sure to take precautions to avoid falling.
