What Causes Pain In The Lower Left Quadrant?
My son suddenly started having pain in his Lower left quadrant about 3-4 inches diagonal from his umbilicus. His pain is mostly when the area is palpated. No changes in bowel patterns. Last bowel movement today x2. Bowel sounds present, normal x4. Abdominal soft and non-tender other than that one area.

Pain in the left lower abdomen in men is most of the time related to the bowel. Even though he does not seem constipated, this does not rule it out. He may benefit from some ibuprofen and buscopan and local warm packs. Movicol 2 sachets daily can be tried as well to help soften his stools.
If no improvement with these or he notices any worsening, he needs to see a doctor.
