What Causes Pain In The Leg From Calf Down?

I m having pain in the back of ankle/calf area. I have limited ability in walking, can t stand on my toes, moderate pain in the back of ankle to mid calf area, and limited flexiblity. I can feel the ground, wriggle my toes, twirl my ankle in a clockwise and counterwise motion, point my toes up to the sky and down to floor. I have an idea of what it could be because I have rupture my achilles before and the symptoms are similar but the only difference is I can feel the ground compared to last time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be relate to a muscle or tendon issue. An X-ray or CT scan of the leg is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to use cold compresses for local application.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
