What Causes Pain In The Left Thigh After Swimming In Cold Water?

I went swimming a couple days ago in cold water. After I got out my left thigh began to tighten, throb, (previous surgery on same thigh 8 months before) and turned red. At first I thought I tore a muscle due to lack of physical therapy to my surgery wound. 3 days later my leg is still a little pink and the entire area is tight. What could be wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have evaluated your query in details. As there is redness with pain, the issue sounds to be inflammatory related which is most likely following some sort of bug bite while swimming or immediately after swimming during shower.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
