What Causes Pain In The Left Shoulder?

I had rt rotator cuff repaired two years ago. Now I am experiencing a similar pinching type pain in my left shoulder and, like the rt side sometimes wakes me up during the night. I usually get it after working out with light weights, and I hold on to the arms of tread mill while walking. I m 67 and really don t want another surgery, as the rehab was worse than my TKA. Any suggestions on some PT that may help alleviate the pinching or do I go back to Dr. Diveris for his expertise (he did the knee and the cuff surgery)?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve. I suggest you use painkiller such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day daily. I also recommend moderate physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
