What Causes Pain In The Left Foot?

The outer midbone on the side of my left foot remains sore whether I walk or rest. I have used the 3 arch foot leveler system for about 3 years, but that is not helping this problem. This started about a month ago when I stepped wrong (sort of sideways, so my foot was not completely under me) when I got out of bed. I walk and stand at work, and ignore the pain. When I hike I wear boots and walk slowly and carefully. That outer bone area is sore all the time, even keeping me from falling asleep. What is the problem? carolyn
