What Causes Pain In The Hips While Walking?

About 4 weeks ago I experienced a new pain in my hips when rising and walking, especially noticeable when climbing stairs. Several days after that I experienced sciatic pain in right hip and leg. That lasted two days and then my back went out and I was in severe pain, could hardly walk. Went to chiropractor for treatment for that. His xray showed hips were good. When my lower back recovered the hip pain returned. I had a hip x-ray last Friday which shows no problem. My N.P. said to take some motrin and see if that helps. I am at a loss as to how to proceed.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, a substantial amount of hip pain restricting daily activities indicate possible nerve compression, avascular necrosis of hip joint or other condition.

* It is recommended to get prescription of MRI hip from your doc for further precise evaluation and definite management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
