Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Head Upon Turning To The Left?
The pain on the top right side of my head only happens when I turn to my left. This pain is not consistent and has been happening for years, at least 10 years now. I do not know what triggers the pain, as it always catches me off guard. The pain is excruciating, & Lava Burning Hot. The pain starts on the right side of my neck and runs to up the same spot in my head where the pain and burning happen. I ve talked to my doctor and several other doctors in the past and none can give me an answer to what cause the pain or why it happens. Do you or have you ever heard anyone describe these symptoms?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your description of symptoms is consistent with migraine headache. Treatment or control of symptoms may at times be very challenging. I will advise you see a neurologist for examination given the long-term (chronic) nature of your symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
