What Causes Pain In The Fingers And Palms?

I have pain in my fingers and upper palm; thinking maybe arthritis. Took over counter medication with no relief . I wake up and it is stiff and painful. Take 2 extra strength tylenol but no help there. Cannot function. Any suggestions? No trauma previously but boy, it hurts!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain in your fingers and upper palm could be due to arthritis. As Tylenol is not helping, further investigations are recommended:
- x-ray of the hand
- CRP
- complete blood count
- ERS
- Rheumatoid factor

Rheumatologist is to get further consultation.

For the moment, take ibuprofen and/or naproxen alternating with Tylenol. Apply analgesic cream locally. Massage with essential oils (lavender).

Wish fast recovery.
