Hi. I am on the highschool swim team and this past Monday my foot started o hurt a lot and has gotten worse throughout the week. My foot would swell and my show would be hard to put on or take off. My foot is not purple or look bruised by I have a lump on the top of my foot, its pretty tender and feels like there is fluid inside. My right side of the foot is starting to hurt. It hurts when I put pressure a lot of the time and the pain can get extreme

Hello,

Foot pain and pressure may be due to plantaris pain syndrome or stress fractures of pharynx or muscle spasm. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use physical therapy, cold and warm compression. Use tablet NSAIDs if necessary. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and take an x-ray then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
