What Causes Pain In The Corners Of Jaw While Having Alcoholic Beverages?

When I have one or two alcoholic beverages I get an intense pain in both corners of my jaw which I noticed intensifies when I drink a little water. It lasts for about 10-20 minutes and then quickly goes away. This only occurs when I drink one or two alcoholic beverages. If I have more than a few drinks then the pain never occurs. Any help would be appreciated.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have pain at corners of jaw after taking few drinks of alcohol because of sugar content of alcohol . The sugar content and low temperature of beverage cause pain having pulpitis (inflammation of tooth soft tissue that is pulp)or due to tooth sensitivity.

I would suggest you to consult dentist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order X-ray to find out the exact cause.

Doctor may extract infected part of tooth and fill it with dental material like composite with linning at its base so that to prevent temperature sensitivity . If dentist find it to be irreversible pulpitis the root canal can be done and crown should be given.

For now use anti sensitivity tooth paste like thermoseal , apply it on affected area ,leave it for ten minutes and then put some paste on brush and brush your teeth once daily .
