Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had two stents put in 3 weeks ago. I get occasional deep dull chest pains around the heart area. I have since changed my lifestyle to stop smoking, no sugar and less salt. Reduce carbo intake and regular 10 to 15 min walks daily around the neighborhood. The chest pain dissapears everytime I go for walks, exercise or do deep breathing. I feel my stomach growls with wind/ gas and when I massage my left armpit, I will sometimes burp or fart, and the chest pain subsides. The pain also subsides when I eat or drink. I take rolled raw oats with low fat milk at 8am and I must eat again by 11am else I start to feel a bit hypo and jittery. Am I changing my diet too drastically causing wind and can this wind be causing the heart pains ? I am taking Plavixs and Cardiprin in the morning and Lipitor at nights as instructed after the angio.
Any chest pain/discomfort which is disappering after you go for walk is unlikely cardiac pain. But i still suggest you to get a TMT or dobutaminestress echocardiograpghy test after consulting your cardiologist. Pls continue your plavix tablets.
