What Causes Pain In The Ankle Radiating Towards The Calf Muscles?

I rolled my ankle two days ago and it still hurts. It throbs and goes numb while sitting and there is pain while bearing weight. No swelling and no bruising. There is also time tenderness running from the inside ankle bone to half way up the inside of my calf. What do you think I did to my ankle?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It looks like you are suffering from an ankle sprain or some injury to the ligament or nerve.

If your movement is getting restricted due to muscle spasm & pain, you are suggested to visit ER, get physically examined, get all required tests along with X-Ray & MRI done.

Get investigated, get treated at the earliest. Other causes Can be OA, RA or Gout.

In the meantime, stay at rest, compression effectively relieves the pain and discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
