What Causes Pain In Neck At The Base Of Skull?

Good evening, I have had a lot of aching in my neck at the base of my skull and when it starts I cannot support my head; with this I get twitching in on my left cheek and left eye. This has been happening for the past 2 weeks; what could be the cause. I :) ad 2 car accidents where someone drove into the back of my car in 2011 and 2013. Could this be the cause? I await your reply.

Given history here could be suggestive of some muscular problem and this can be best treated with medicine given below, if there was history of accident then this need to be taken into consideration and for that better to get done CT of cervical region, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
