What Causes Pain In Middle Left Side Under Ribs?

My daughter has been having pain in the middle left side under her ribs that sometimes spreads to the right side. She is 10 and has been having this problem for two weeks. She has a fatty acid oxidation disorder and has also had 4 staph infections in the pat 6 months that she has taken Bactrim for. I am not sure if it is something that I should be worried about.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case. I believe that can be due to chest infection or fluid in lungs. So I would recommend you to not to ignore this. You should visit a child specialist and get her chest x ray. if there is any sign suggestive of any infection than she might need antibiotics.
Also it can occur due to viral infection, cold and flu. So make sure she is not taking bath with cold water or eating ice cream or cold drinks.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
