What Causes Pain In Lower Right Side Before Onset Of Periods?

Hello yes please. I am 33..no children. I m on birth control. I get my period in five days and am currently experiencing pain on my lower right side..I believe where my ovary is. This started two days ago. Doesn t seem like the cramping I normally experince before my period. The pain is not severe..but is persistent. I am more aware of it when lying or sitting down. Standing up and walking feels so much better to the point that I am barely aware of the issue. I am not sure if I have a cyst or something else. I feel as though it is a little soon to see physician

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an ovarian cyst.

I suggest to do an abdominal ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen to treat the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
