What Causes Pain In Lower Left Quadrant ?

The pain in my lower left quadrant has returned. My doctor 20 years ago checked it out and told me not to worry- probably gas.no major organs there to worry about. Very little problems with it since then, However, I went overseas a month ago and dragged around a lot of heavy luggage around the airports, etc. Could I have pulled a muscle? Pain is not constant- sometimes it appears in my back-sometimes disappears with bowl movements(which are normal) and/or passing gas...Should I be worried about this?? I m 72- in great health. recent yearly- I feel no lumps nor pain when pressing in area checking it out looking for pain area and/solid matter. Thanks so much..

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you may be having muscular pain in left abdominal area. Treatment of it is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen. Vitamin B and C is soothing. Second possibility may be amebiasis but then there must be bowl disturbance. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
