What Causes Pain In Leg And Popped Veins Near Hip During Pregnancy?

My girlfriend is 7 months pregnant and yesterday she showed me that some veins near her hip was popped out pretty far. Then this morning she was complaining about a pain in the corresponding leg. We have an appointment in 3 days to see her physician and im thinking we should go to the ER to find out whats wrong. Any swift advice would be appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The enlarged veins are likely due to the increased pressure of the uterus on the blood vessels in the area.

This the reason that pregnant women may have varicose veins.
She may not need to see someone regarding this but if she is having severe pain then this should be assessed.

I hope this helps
