What Causes Pain In Left Knee After A Right Hip Replacement Surgery?

I had a right hip replacement when unfortunately they fractured my femur, I was none weight baring for several months but a few weeks after being able to weight bare again I now have a painful left knee which my doctor says is an effusion. It is really painful to walk but I am now back at work, is the knee pain caused because it took more weight and will it get better on its own

Hi,

Yes... apparently it seems to be extra stress to the knee joint.. to support operated hip.

You should use walker till the movements are comfortable...save opposite sided knee from excessive stress. This would help you getting normal movements of operated leg & also to prevent stress to opposite leg & knee.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
