What Causes Pain In Hip Muscles?

I woke up with an extreme pain in m y hip muscle near my socket (right)k. I have chronic pain in my low back and take methadone 20mg twice a day, and my doctor (off today) knows that if I say it hurts, then it s usually pretty bad. I m on my 2nd day, and it was much worse this a.m. I haven t injured myself, and cannot figure out the source. It s like a frog but so much more. I have diabetis, high blood pressure, a new (2 mo) pace maker, and it would take so much more time go list all my ailments. my concern is blood clot. I have no history of them, but heard it can be painful too. Please adviser Doug Price 214-228-2122

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
your symptoms would include swelling of the whole limb if you have had a blood clot. be patient it seems you have had an episode of acute sprain. take some rest and analgesics, but if you have swelling of the extremity then definitively you need to consult and get treated, and vein thrombosis can sometimes be life threatening.
