I had myopericarditis a month ago. I am a healthy 25 year old professional hockey player. It started with sharp chest pains and numbing in the arm i was admitted to hospital and given large doses of advil. I was released after a week. The sharp pains have gone away but occassionally I get some pain in the back or chest and some numbness in the arm. How long does yhis last?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The persistence of pain in chest and / or back could be a sequelae of pain due to myocarditis. The pain will disappear over a period of time. If it doesn't then you may consult your cardiologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
