General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
I understand your concern.
By the description you have given, it appears that you are experiencing 'Vaginismus'. It is painful spasmodic contraction of the vagina in response to physical contact or pressure, especially during sexual intercourse.
It is generally caused due to non-physical causes like fear or anxiety and rarely associated with underlying medical conditions like urinary tract infections or infections of vagina.
If you don't have any other symptoms related to infections, having an adequate foreplay and ensuring good lubrication should solve the problem.
You can use water-based lubricants to get good lubrication. Also tell your partner to be slow at the beginning.
In case you have symptoms of infections, get your urine test done for 'Urine Routine' examination. If it indicates infection, it needs to be treated.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
Wish you all the best.
