What Causes Pain Beneath The Ear?

i have an ache in my ear, and just beneath my ear - started as what i thought might be TMJ or a tooth problem, and then became a dull constant earache. it s been maybe 2 weeks. my ENT isn t available until next week, and my internist is away. i have chosen to wait for my ENT, but am concerned that this is going on so long.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

As you have earache since two week, I will advise you to consult any ENT surgeon as soon as possible

Your Otoscopy ear examination needed to do initial work up in your case

Impacted wax, inflammed tympanic membrane, otitis externa etc might be the reason

According to cause further specific treatment given

If needed for impacted wax, syringing might be done

If infection associated then topical antibiotic drop might prescribed

For pain and inflammation relief ibuprofen or Naproxen can be taken.
Hope your concern solved

Take care
