What Causes Pain Below The Rib-cage Radiating Towards The Back?
I have a pain in my right side just below my ribcage which radiates around to my back. have had this pain for a month. now I notice that I have a slight bulge that has developed on my right side. my side has been sensitive to the touch. in the past, I have had 2 epideral shots in the back. the pain I am having now is a dull pain...I don't smoke and I am not a heavy drinker
Your symptoms could be due to Costochondritis, liver damage, kidney stone, kidney infection, pinched nerve, gastric problem. I would suggest you to consult internal medicine specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may order kidney function test, liver function test , CT scan or ultrasound. If all investigations will come with in normal range then problem most likely due to musculoskeletal pain/costochondritis, gastric problem. Specific treatment will depend on cause: For now eat light diet, take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and take proper rest. Apply warm compresses to rib cage and back.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
