What Causes Pain Below The Rib Cage On The Right Side?

I have gastritis, gastroparesis, hypothyroidism & a lazy colon. I am having severe sharp, stabbing, burning pain right below my rib cage about 2 inches from the breast bone. There is some swelling too. It started early this afternoon & has progressively gotten worse. What should I do & what could it be?

consult gastroenterologist. take tabomiprazol and unienzyme thyroid hormone essay may be done and consult endocrinologist for treatment. can take ultrasound to study swelling.
