What Causes Pain Below The Navel On The Left Side?

i have sore just below my belly button and a little to the left. about my belt line. it is very sore, I squeeze the pus out about every day to relieve the pain. could it be bed sores. I am wearing looser pants with no belt and sometime I leave my pants unbuttoned to keep the pressure off of it. I have had this sore for a couple months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The sore might be resulting from a superficial bacterial infection. In that case, it needs regular dressing with povidone iodine solution and a full course of antibiotic.

But, as it is standing for almost 2 months, the depth of the sore needs to be assessed and a culture and sensitivity test needs to be done before taking any antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tanmoy Roy, General & Family Physician
