Hello,

The symptom could be cause from nerve pain that it radiation pain called sciatica pain. You should be remaining active, to extent that you are able. But if you have severe pain, you may need to rest your back for a day or so. It may be most comfortable to lie on your back with a pillow under your knees and your head and shoulder elevated. You use heat to help and medication to help for pain relieve. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen may work better than acetaminophen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician
