What Causes Pain At The Base Of The Skull?
My wife has pain at the base of her skull.We were in New orleans on tyhe flight back she slept awkwardly the pain increased trheough this week. She also has pain while swallowing. No fever.blood test showede mild elevations but nothing dramatic. Pain meds work ok sore throat persists neck very stiff and sore.

As you are writing that her neck is very stiff I suggest you do as soon as possible a CT scan of the head to rule out any risk situation like a cranial hematoma or something else.
