I developed a deep unproductive cough over a month and a half ago. There is no sinus irritation or post nasal drainage that I notice. The cough became so bad that i became stress incontinent. I suggested to my physician that I my have reflux at night and we treated accordingly. Nexium daily x2 and elevated sleeping position with modified diet. I felt as if I was improving, but now I have a large painful (possible lymph node) around my trachea that hurts when I cough or swallow. It doesn't seem to be palpable. It is at the level of my collar bone. Should I continue my current course of treatment or go for another opinion. Could this be something more serious?
