What Causes Pain Around The Waist On The Right Side?

I have been in a lot of pain, on and off, for months. When it hits, it lasts for days. It is a sharp continuous pain located on my right side at my waist line. If I was to put my hands on my waist, as if to exercise, my thumbs pointed in back, the pain is at my right thumb. Help

Hi,

As per your history, the pain looks like in the right kidney or right uriter region.

There can be the two causes either it may be because of chronic intestinal infection or because of nephrolithiasis (kidney stone). The second cause seems to be more relevant.

You need to get an abdominal ultrasound done as soon as possible to get on the main cause of the pain.

During meantime take plenty of fluids and take more fibrous food than fat and carbohydrates.

Keep one thing in mind that water you take must be in intervals and if you have high blood pressure or any cardiac ailments avoid too much water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
