What Causes Pain Around The Navel And Acid Reflux?

I had gastric bypass 12 years ago, i am having pain around my navel and a lot of reflux. I have not experienced any type of heartburn or reflux since my surgery. I have scheduled an appointment to see my doctor but i can not get in until May 25th. My question is, Should i be worried? Thank you, Terri Smith

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your pain may be due to GERD. However, with pain around the navel, an associated digestive parasitic infection should be eliminated with a stool exam. I will advise you take a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole and an antacid like Maalox. If pains persist, you see the doctor for examination and a stool exam.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
