Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
MY wife had a MRI to diagnose pain in the right kidney. She was diagnosed with hydronephrosis. We are cleared to have a CT Scan with iodine contrast but worry about damage to the kidney if she has the iodine contrast. What are possible or likely responses to the iodine contrast in the kidney or to the rest of her?
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern. CT scan with contrast will always be done after the kidney functions have been evaluated. If kidney functions normal, there will be no problem taking the test as the product of contrast will be rapidely eliminated. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns Best regards
