What Causes Pain And Weakness In The Chest?

Hi, I am experiencing sharp chest pain and weakness (like I am going to faint) everytine I stand up. I donated Plasma for my 3rd time in two weeks, today. Before and after plasma donation, I ate and drank plenty of fluids. Both other times I donated, I experienced.chest pain but not as bad as todays.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Donating Plasma can not cause any type of serious chest pain in someone who is not anemic.

Donating plasma too often might deplete someone's blood supply sufficient to cause cardiac type chest pain, but that is usually prohibited.

If the symptoms continue, I suggest to do an electrocardiogram for further evaluation.

Meanwhile, I suggest to drink liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
