What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Stomach, Cramp Pains And Diarrhea?

I haven't been feeling myself. It started yesterday with pains in the top of my stomach. Its tender to touch and at times i get like cramp pains. I have had diarrhea, however this has now gone. My head has been sore and at times I feel dizzy. It may be coincidence but today I also got my period. Just wondering what this may be?

Hello,

Diarrhea along with pain and tenderness in the upper stomach can be due to the following reasons:
-Entero-colitis.
-Colitis due to inflammation as this can cause pain in the upper stomach particularly when the transverse colon is involved. Hence I would advise you the following:
-Consult your doctor for clinical evaluation, examination, and investigations of stool and blood.
It may give an idea about the exact cause and may need further evaluation by ultrasonography and so on.
-An appropriate antibiotic, metronidazole can help you to get relief.
-Needs symptomatic treatment with anti-spasmodic.
-Take plenty of water orally and electrolyte solution to avoid dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
-Soft bland diet.
